24 weeks

How far along? 24 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss? Wowzers, I went to my 24 week appointment and found out that I have gained 7.5lbs over the last month! I blame all the vacation eating...oh well! So that's a total of 13lbs so far. Let's hope I slow that monthly weight gain down...
Baby size: Baby weighs just over a pound and is over a foot long (picture and ear of corn).  (babycenter)
Maternity clothes? I brought a bunch of dresses on vacation and realized that I couldn't wear most of them because my bump made them very short! Oops! Good thing I tend to over pack!
Exercise: I did one cardio and one weight lifting...and then lots of horrible eating in Key West
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Lot's of wonderful amazing sleep on vacation...actually was able to sleep in!
Best moment this week: Celebrating our four year anniversary and vacationing with amazing friends!
Miss anything:  Having some drinks with friends on vacation...although I did not miss the hangovers that some of them had :)
Movement:  Yup - lots and lots of kicks. Mostly at night when I am headed to bed.
Food cravings: Sweets - just like with Ryan!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Have you started to show yet: Yup!
Gender predication: ?boy?
Labor signs: No
Symptoms: Still have the horrible lower back pain. Oh and I have noticed some heartburn as well.
Belly button in or out? Out
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

23 weeks

How far along? 23 weeks 5 days
Total weight gain/loss? eek...I have been eating horribly so I am a little scared for my next visit
Baby size: Baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. (babycenter)
Maternity clothes? Regular tops still work and I have been able to wear all my shorts still....but pants are an entirely different story. However, I generally live in shorts/tanks or workout clothes.
Exercise: Two weight lifting workouts
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Still waking up for the bathroom a couple of times a night, but easily fall back asleep.
Best moment this week: Ryan loves to kiss baby - he lifts my shirt and kisses my belly. So Sweet!
Miss anything:  Nothing this week...
Movement:  Lots! You can see little flutters from outside...but Kevin still hasn't seen/felt.
Food cravings: Sweets - just like with Ryan!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Have you started to show yet: Yup!
Gender predication: ?boy?
Labor signs: No
Symptoms: Still have the horrible lower back pain. Went for a prenatal massage which helped a tad...
Belly button in or out? Still flat-ish
Wedding rings on or off? On

Baby M (22 weeks sonogram)

This past Tuesday I had my 22 week sonogram - so happy to report that EVERYTHING looks great! Kidneys, brain, heart ...and all the other little parts....all good :) Makes mommy so happy!

Baby's heart beat was 142 (or 143) I can't remember for sure. Baby is also measuring at 1lb 2 oz which is actually slightly above average size - more good news :)

Didn't really get the best pictures....but I will share what I got.

First Day & Last Day

Today was Ryan's last day of Mother's Day out. I can't believe how fast this year has gone...and I know it's not going to slow down any time soon. Goodness!

Check out my little man back on his first day of MDO:

Little guy wasn't even walking yet! He has grown so much (yet, I think he still fits into those same clothes! lol)

And today on his last day:
So we were running a bit behind and he wasn't being uber cooperative so I didn't get the best shots...oh well. As you can see I let him play with what he wanted just so I could snag a couple of pics.

Ryan brought his teachers a little gift on his last day.
I actually planned ahead and had ordered them each a custom monogramed May Book a couple months ago when they came out. (If you love notebooks you should check May books out - you can create custom notebooks, inside and out! I love them!) Anyhow, I thought they were perfect for teacher gifts. I also ended up getting them each a tervis tumbler with their initials. I don't go anywhere without my tervis tumbler...and it's great for the summer! I wanted to make cute little tags to attach but my printer was out of ink so I just had to whip up something really fast.

So we have four weeks with no school then Ryan will go for summer session (which all of his buddies are doing as well). He will change classrooms and use a nap mat! WOW! (He was in a crib this whole year). Guess I better start looking for one...

Mother's Day 2012

My little bug and his daddy made Sunday such a special day for me!

The day started off with sleeping in - yay! If you know me, you know I love my sleep. Kevin played with Ryan and then they went to run some errands. When they returned I found Ryan in the hallway walking towards me with a BIG ol balloon. The best part was that the balloon is musical and when it starts to sing, Ryan starts to dance - it's adorable.
Balloons, flowers, cards AND reeces peanut butter cups (my latest obsession)...and my two favorite men!
Around 11 a picnic was packed and we headed down to the Arts District for a little outdoor dining and jazz music. We had a great time and Ryan loved playing in the water fountain outside the opera house. He wore himself out but we made it home in time for his nap.

Playing in the water with daddy!

During nap time I was able to get out and get a much needed pedicure...oh how I miss getting one whenever I needed it...

Next up was dinner at the Hales house. Kevin and Michael (and one more family) had been planning a yummy dinner for us and they did not disappoint. The boys had everything planned out - apps, kids meals, our meals and desert! So yum!
Yup - that's steak and lobster!

And of course I LOVED desert!

So did Ryan...lol!

Rosemary Beach (part 2)

So another great thing about Rosemary is that they have so many parks for the kiddos to play in. They have one traditional park with swings, slides and stuff, and then a bunch of big open green fields where you can run around and play - the kids had so much fun!

We tried to get pictures of them in their crab outfits but it wasn't so successful. Ryan was no interested in sitting still...oh well.
Ryan loves feeding people...

Oh and he is very in to utensils these days. Who doesn't need two knives when eating chips and queso? We tried La Cocina (yup, a mexican restaurant in Florida), and it was actually pretty good - probably because the owners are from Texas. Yeehaw!
Ryan and Caroline were quite the bike riding buddies. I would like to say it's because they just love each other so much but in actuality it was because Miss Caroline was quite smitten with Mr. Kevin. lol!
The weather was great the entire time we were there. One afternoon we had a nice afternoon shower and afterwards Ryan loved stomping in all the rain puddles.

Ryan has a serious love for water bottles. Trust me, once he borrows yours you might as well give it to him. He really gets his entire mouth all over it and well, basically whatever was in his mouth too - ah well, it makes him happy.
Kevin took Ryan on a walk when I went up for a shower and when I came down I found them in the backyard. The two of them were just sitting in silence staring ahead and completely content. It was so cute!
One nights, after a visit to The Sugar Shack, we headed over to a park to get the sillies out. These little kiddos chased Brian around for probably 30 min giggling the entire time. So much fun!

Our daily transportation - sooooo much better than a car and dealing with a car seat.

Another attempt with matching shirts. Finally getting the boys!

I have no idea how photographers do it - major props to them. It is amazingly difficult to get a decent picture of three children - oh well!

Last day at the beach - love these two little kiddos!

Love my bug in his shades. He actually didn't mind the aviators that much...

Such a fun week! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Rosemary Beach (part 1)

You may have noticed a lapse in my blogging last week - we were on vacation! Saturday evening we returned from a week long trip in Rosemary Beach with our friends the Aston's. I have a ton of pictures so I will probably split our trip up into two posts. First of all, this was out first visit to Rosemary and I can say it definitely won't be our last! Growing up my parents took us to Destin every summer and I have such great memories from our time spent there. Although I haven't been back to Destin in quite a while, Kevin and I have talked about starting a yearly beach vacation and with so many quaint little communities (Seaside, Water Color & Rosemary) popping up we knew it would be the perfect area for to try.

We flew Southwest into Panama City Airport (ECP), which is about a 15 minute drive from Rosemary. Since it was Southwest we had to fly to Houston then on to ECP - the stop in Houston (without getting off the plane) was a bit of a pain but in the end it was worth it - so much better than driving. Hopefully Dallas will get a direct fight soon.

Anyhow, we arrived Saturday evening and were more than pleased with our accommodations. It's always hard looking for a place online (especially when you have never stayed in the area) but it was a beautiful house and in the perfect location. The house was huge and we really could have had probably two more families stay with us - maybe next year! There was even a carriage house which would have been perfect for some of our friends that don't have kids yet - that way they could get away from the craziness! The house is located on the north side of 30A, but still very close to everything. After bike riding around Rosemary I still think it is one of the better locations available.

MK and I worked out meals and groceries beforehand and had the Beach Butlers deliver (and put away) all of our groceries!! This was so NICE and I highly recommend it! It was so refreshing to arrive and have everything we needed already stocked - who wants to spend time in the grocery store while on vacation?

Although we were fully stocked I didn't want to cook (and since the Aston's weren't arriving until Sunday) we decided to get out and grab something - we headed to Cowgirl Kitchen and picked up a pizza which was delicious.

Since the Aston's had come the previous year they had recommended renting bikes - which was the best idea ever! I don't know how long it has been since I have been on a bike but it is true - you really don't forget how to do it. We rode our bikes everywhere and the kids loved riding along in the back. On Sunday morning we rode our bikes down to Aly's beach to find Charlie's Donut Truck.

Who doesn't love sprinkles?

After the donuts we walked down to the beach. Ryan loves riding in the red wagon!

Just hanging on the beach with daddy!

We kinda started a routine - mornings at the beach. Head back to the house around 11:30 for a dip in the pool and some lunch. By 12:30 the little kiddos were ready for a nap and the adults got to lounge poolside - pretty fantastic. Not many of the houses in Rosemary have pools but I think its definitely worth it, especially with kids!

Dinner time for the kiddos!

Ready for the beach day #2

Ryan absolutely LOVED this boat. We bought it thinking, well it could go one of two ways. He will hate it the second he gets in and want nothing to do with it....or he will love it. And he loved it. Score one for dad. He was so serious in it and loved going over the waves. When Kevin would ask him if he wanted out he would say "No".

Ryan also really loved the sand -  thankfully he didn't eat it as much as I thought he would. Although when he did he would grind it between him teeth which might be one of the worst sounds I have ever heard.

I can't think of a better place to enjoy some watermelon! I am not sure if you can see it but it's dripping all over his face and down his sweet little belly.
Mommy and her sweet little bug!
The front porch had a swing that the kids loved.

After naps and dinner we headed to mommy's favorite place - The Sugar Shack! I am pretty sure this will be one of Ryan's favorite places one day as well. While I was most interested in the ice cream they also have every candy imaginable...so much fun for a little kiddo!
So I'll leave you on a sugar high...
