Friday, June 23rd! Happy birthday Kevin - let's take a drive....
All packed up and headed to the beach!
We split the drive up and spent the first night in Jackson, Mississippi.
Some BBQ for dinner!
Saturday morning we woke up, grabbed some food and got on the road. We made it to Seacrest around 2pm and the kids were so excited to jump in the pool.
Kevin was the first adult to go to sleep the first night. When I got to our room this is what I was dealing with.
Such a sweet little girl! Love this face :)
Happy Sunday!
Ready for the beach!
That afternoon the guys went out for a bike ride. And got stuck in a crazy storm! The kids were pretty pumped about it.
Grayson got a little tennis in too...he loves it!
Monday morning I got up and went for a run - then when I got back Kevin and I took some of the kids for donuts.
And then the beach.
That night we grabbed Cowgirl Kitchen and ate in the common area...there was live music that the kids danced to.
I love this picture - mainly because I have another one and Ali has a normal smile. But this one makes me laugh.
And we scootered/biked home
Mimosas on the beach!
This guy LOVED the sand.
Grayson was sooooo tired (imagine that). Since I refused to carry him, he actually was ok hitching a ride in the wagon. A little unconventional, but successful nonetheless.
For dinner Tuesday night we went to The Hub.
Group HUG!
Happy for ice cream. When she saw Uncle Bryan in line for ice cream she didn't leave his side - and kept tapping wacking him so that he wouldn't forget she was there. She's a doll.
I love Hayden's pose in this picture. It's the total girl pose. Except her face...she really just wants me to stop taking pictures so she can enjoy her ice cream.
So happy!
On Wednesday we decided to switch things up. We thought we'd try the community pool in the morning and the beach in the afternoon.
The community pool is large, but it gets crazy crowded. Plus there were so many bugs, nats or whatever they are. They were driving me bonkers.
Sheridan was a hit!
The weather was a little iffy, so instead of hitting up the beach we decided to do a little shopping in Rosemary.
Tate loved the wagon!
Wednesday was also Joe's 5th birthday - so we celebrated with cake and presents!
And then the adults went out to dinner without the kids....
I thought I was so creative with this picture. Bryan looks a little creepy though.
Thursday morning we woke up to RAIN!
So we headed into Seaside...
Somehow Terra's phone fell underneath the porch...and we tried to get it with grilling utensils. We also used each of our children's arms but they just weren't long enough. Ben decided to take one for the team - he suited up (see below)
and was going to crawl under the house to retrieve the phone. Bryan was headed out the door to buy a hammer - he had plans to bust open the porch...and us ladies...well, we pulled it together and with a little team work shimmied that darn thing out. It was amazing. There was a lot of cheering.
We were proud. It was a moment. Maybe you had to be there.
After dinner I had everyone try a Beautycounter mask.
What? That's not normal?
Yup - everyone.
And of course they all fell in love with Beautycounter. ;)
After two days without the beach we desperately needed a good beach day!
And Friday was perfect!
My kids were huge fans of being buried in the sand. Ryan laid there for a good 45 minutes or so....
Lil ninja - she would karate chop the waves. It was pretty cute!
Oh look - he's still in the sand!
I also found a sea cucumber (or something) and a sand dollar. Woot woot!
Then we moved on to Ben.
The little ones napped...
And Ali even got in the water!
First time ever!
Hayden was obsessed with the beach. She loved everything about it!
We headed back to the house around 3pm and did a little swimming. Afterwards the dads took the kids for ice cream while the moms started packing up...
Last night in Seacrest...Go out with a bang!
Packing up...
My favorite picture ever.
She passed out with her glow sticks on. Party girl!
We had such a great time with the Jackson's and Botterman's. Can't wait to do it again!
