Grayson's Baptism

This past Sunday was a very special day for our family - we celebrated Grayson's christening. He was baptized by Rev. Marc Craig at HPUMC during the 9:30am service. It is a very quick portion of the overall service and the little man did great. Daddy held him up for everyone to see - Rev. Marc Craig was a little scared to hold him since he was so young!

Here we are before the service

Hanging out getting ready

After the service with big brother Ryan

Family picture after the service - all the kiddos did great!

After church we headed up to Lakewood Country Club for some brunch with the family.
Getting in some QT with Uncle Michael

And of course there was cake :)

Hanging with Ethan

We are so blessed to have this little man in our lives! Love him so much!

Building Vandy

It has been about a month since my last update - demo day! There has been a lot going on since then, but nothing too exciting (if you ask me). Basically all the ground work for preparing to lay the foundation - so lots of plumbers, electricians and other contractors getting everything ready.  Oh and we also had to close on the construction portion of the lot. We have had quite a few closings but our title company is really close and since we have gotten to know them so well it wasn't that odd when I nursed Grayson while signing the documents! lol! (I am telling you, nursing is a whole different ballgame this time around...I don't have time to sit at home and do it so wherever we are has to work!)

We are doing a pier and slab foundation - it's like a hybrid of the of pier & beam and regular slab. When the team came in to do the piers they were able to complete all of them except one in the back - they came across and object and it caused a delay. When Kevin told me there was an object buried 6 feet under that had to be extracted I immediately thought...oh dear what is it?? A grave? Is that weird that that is what I thought? Well, it wasn't a grave or anything creepy. It was a cistern - and it was pretty large. About 8x10 and it was at least 6 feet under, so that actually caused a little bit of a delay getting that taken care of. It pushed things back about a week but Jeff (our builder) thinks we should be able to make that time up as we move along.

Yesterday they poured the cement for the slab - Yay! So fun! I took Ryan by and he thought all the trucks were pretty cool! It takes about 30 days for the slab to dry 100% but they can actually start building long before so we should see the frame going up pretty quickly!

We have also been working with Ryan (Jeff's partner) on selecting the plumbing fixtures over the past two weeks. During Grayson's night feedings I have been perusing Houzz.com and pinning ideas for the house - it's a great way to pass time! Ryan checks out my pins and then selects 2-3 options for each category which makes it (somewhat) easy for us to decide. They have a great portal that we log into and can make all our final selections. It keeps everything nice and neat and I like it.

I won't bore you with all the fixtures we selected but here are some sneak peaks to what we are going for in a couple of areas.

Kitchen:
A mix of white and gray - stainless steel appliances and a farmhouse sink!

Master bath:
Again with the mix of white and gray - stand alone tub and fun chandelier.

Guest bathroom:
While most of the house is going to be white/gray we decided to do something a little different in the guest bathroom. I found this picture online and really love it - the dark wood, light countertops, and lighting. Hoping to create something like this for the downstairs bathroom.

Saturday Night Out

We headed out to Grapevine for a wedding on Saturday night. Ryan stayed home with one of his favorite sitters while little G joined us for the festivities!
Here we are - clearly G was not too thrilled here. He is saying mommy I'm hungry...quit taking pics!

Hanging at the reception - a beautiful house overlooking Grapevine Lake

Acting silly!

And we hit up the photobooth while little G was up
Doesn't he look thrilled?

Terra holding baby G! So excited to meet their sweet little girl in March!

Daddy and Uncle Bryan tearing it up on the dance floor...Gangnam style

Aunt Sarah getting some sweet cuddles in.

And then this happened
And since Uncle Bryan did it...of course G wanted to as well

Such a wonderful wedding!

My Little Pumpkins

This morning we headed to the arboretum for Tiny Tot Tuesday and i was actually able to get some pictures of the boys in the pumpkins! yay!

 Grayson was actually awake!
Just chillin'

While I was snapping pictures of Grayson, Ryan had picked up a pumpkin and got himself settled into a spot for some pictures. He knows his mommy well!

This was the first attempt to get pictures together...but Ryan wasn't intersted. So I just got him.

My little G-bear

Ryan did this for a cookie...which I still owe him.

Wish they would look at the camera...but this is progress

Peek-a-boo!

I ordered their adorable little shirts from Etsy and love them! I love dressing them alike so I gotta do it while I still can! lol!

State Fair of Texas

Yee-Haw!

Yesterday we took the boys to the fair and we had a blast! This was the first year that Ryan could actually enjoy it (we missed it last year and the year before he was too small to remember...like Grayson's age).

I snapped this picture walking in...my little baby G all bundled up. He actually stayed up for quite a while. I think all the lights and sounds really interested him...perhaps a little overstimulation? I nursed him once and then he was passed out the rest of the time. Nothing like nursing a baby at the stat fair! lol!

The weather wasn't all that great and Ryan had a major runny nose but overall it was a success. When we got there we stocked up on tickets and a game card. Ryan was unsure of all of the chaos and noise but he eventually eased into it all. There was a rubber duck game where you just pull a duck out of the pond with your hand and you win...but Ryan kinda freaked out and wouldn't do it. I think it was too soon...he still needed to scope things out.

There were lots of fun rides but he wasn't interested in going on them - he really just liked watching them.

We did finally get him to go on one little train ride with Kevin and when it was over he cried.

I guess I probably should have gone with Ryan - Kevin's poor legs!

What's a visit to the fair without trying the food? Of course we had to get a corny dog and a turkey leg - you can't really go to the fair without doing that! The rest was just for fun :)
Ryan was a big fan of all the fair food. He loved the turkey leg and the corny dog.

The fried cheeseburger balls were pretty darn good!

I also LOVED the fried Oreos - we got some vanilla ice cream to go along with it - per Ryan's request.
Wow! Can you see why I haven't lost the rest of my baby weight? lol! Kevin and I felt pretty worthless after eating all that food but it only happens once a year - you gotta do it!

In between all of our food we played some more games. I thought Ryan would love this game since he plays it all the time at home. He did. And he won a prize which he absolutely LOVES.

After some games we headed to the other side to check out the animals. It was pretty crowded - apparently one of the goats gave birth like 5 minutes before we got there and I guess it drew a pretty large crowd. Goodness. Ryan was a fan of the kangaroos. After the animals we were pretty tired so we decided to call it a day. Can't wait to take the boys next year - when Grayson can actually enjoy it!

Ryan and his prize piggy that he calls Blue.
It hasn't left his side...he slept with it last night, ate breakfast with it and insisted on bringing it to school today. So cute!
