Saturday morning started off a little chilly - Grayson had a 9am baseball game that we bundled up for BUT by 1:30pm the sun was out and it was beautiful. We headed to Bishop Lynch for the White Rock Spring Games. What's that? Basically field day for all the East Dallas school kiddos! It started 6 years ago and is a small nonprofit with the purpose to help East Dallas school raise money through a shared community experience. East Dallas is such a close knit community and this is the perfect "mixer" to meet up with friends that attend different schools and support our local schools!
Ryan's team, the Scrambled Legs!
Sweet boys!
The first grade boys started with the ballhop relay and the Scrambled Legs started out strong by winning the first round! They were so excited...but unfortunately they didn't hold their ground in the finals. A few tears before moving on to Tug of War , the team Warrior Dash, and the Three-Legged relay. If you haven't ever watched a bunch of kids in a 3-legged relay you really should. And soon. It's pretty great. They finished the games off with individual 50-yard dash!
Ryan is in the middle with the yellow ball!
Hayden and Grayson watching the Ballhop relay!
Face painting for the kiddos - Hayden selected her two favorite colors (of the moment) blue & yellow.
And the Warrior Dash...
When we got to the 50-yard dash I was surprise to see my friend Lauren! Yay! Centro (the company she works for) was a sponsor so some of their employees volunteered! So fun!!!
And of course snow cones ...
They don't look that excited but I can assure you they were quite pleased. The White Rock Spring Games were so much fun and even though we didn't bring home any medals Ryan really enjoyed it and is looking forward to next year! Grayson too!
