Pumpkin Village

On Friday Hayden and I took a quick trip up to the pumpkin village at the arboretum while the boys were at school.  She loved walking around and checking out all the pumpkins but wasn't a huge fan of getting her picture taken. I couldn't get her to look at me!
We were in and out in about 45 minutes - since our friends didn't end up making it we didn't hang around for long. It was hot...and she was in tights. I can only assume she wasn't thrilled about that...but she sure was cute!

Anyhow, when we woke up this morning we made an impromptu decision to take all of the kiddos to the pumpkin village. When we got to the arboretum the first two parking lots were already full, so we weren't so sure about our idea...

We stuck to the plan and eventually made it...

The boys sat down in the pumpkins and Hayden was so excited to crawl in there with them. She was ALL smiles.
Now if I could only say the same for the boys. They were in good moods but getting a smile from them all is quite challenging.

Or really just getting them ALL to look at the camera would be nice.

At least Hayden was loving it!

This little ham kept requesting pictures...

finally smiling for the camera

Ryan kept coming up to me with different pumpkins and asking me to take his picture.

Then his smiles got a little weird.
So we stopped.

And one more time with all three. Of course Grayson isn't participating...

Texas

That's a big ol' squash. Strong boy!

The kids had fun and after the village we headed over to grab some German food at one of the little cafes.  It was a perfect little Sunday morning...if only it could have been 20 degrees cooler....

TX OU Weekend

Yummy orange and white donuts to kick off Saturday morning!
I took Grayson to his soccer game at 10am. Gigi and Papa came to watch him play - yay!

After the soccer game we headed back home where everyone was gathered to watch the game. People came and went throughout the day. We all hung outside and the kids ran around and had a blast. It was the perfect way to watch the game!

Later that evening the ladies went out for a fun dinner! So much laughing...and wine. Love these ladies! So fun!

What's Up Wednesday

Well, since I haven't been so great at blogging lately (I feel like this happens a lot), I thought I do a catch-up post. So here we go...

1. We met this little dude.
Caleb John Park.
What a sweetie! I am pretty sure he didn't make a peep the entire time we were there.
Ahhh the newborn phase...

2. I have been reading this book and it is just as life changing/amazing as everyone says. I have been purging so much and it is awesome. You can't possibly imagine the amount of crap that I hold on to - it should be a crime. No more :) I still have so much to do but I am loving my progress so far!

3. Grayson got a Big Boy Room!

Grayson finally got his big boy room! After our trip to Florida this guy decided he wasn't interested in napping any longer. That has been a whole issue in itself. Since this coincided with him turning three we figured it was probably a good time to move him to a 'real' bed. He was pretty excited about the whole thing. I ordered all of his new furniture and on delivery day I disassembled his crib and moved all the 'baby' stuff out into the living room. I was so excited and was planning on having his big boy room all set up for when he got home from preschool...but it didn't quite happen that way. This is what it looked like when he got home (and for like three weeks after). PBK delivered his furniture without the headboard...so we couldn't assemble the bed. Annoying. It took about three weeks and a million harassing phone calls to finally get them to just reship a new one...which they just left on my front porch. Awesome. Anyhow, its here, and assembled but I am still working on one little corner of his room. Once that is done I will have pictures.

4. We got a "Grown-Up" room too!

Kevin and I finally are getting our "grown up" room too! Wohoo! The master bedroom has been on our list of things to do for so long, so we finally decided to do something about it. With the help of Michelle Lynn Interiors Group we have an awesome new concept and I (along with my mom) have spent the past month executing all of the details. I'm not quite ready to share pictures yet - still waiting on curtains, two art pieces and some pillows and it will be done! In the meantime I will tease with my new striped wall that I painted for our entryway into the master! I love love it!

5. Garth Y'all
Garth came to town and did seven shows in six nights (or something crazy like that). Anyhow, we hadn't planned on going but after seeing/hearing/reading basically everyone in Dallas say it was an amazing concert we didn't want to miss out!!!

boys being boys.

Here he comes!
Oh and I know something cray cray is going on with my shirt. This is the second time I have had an issue like this...its something to do with my bra and lotion. Or oil. I don't know. But don't worry. It's all good. Kevin even told me my shirt looked like it was suppose to be like that. Oh k dog. What a sweetie. And everyone else told me to shut up about my damn shirt. So I did.
Such a great night with friends & family!

Texas State Fair 2015

State Fair 2015 is in the books!

We rode some of the rides
UnFortunately since I am smaller than Kevin I tend to be the go-to adult for a ride buddy.  I might have a few extra brusies after squishing myself into these kiddy rides. It will be nice when the boys want to ride together and Kevin and I can watch from below.
Ready for the roller coaster! Ryan calls this the dog ride...because it was a large wiener dog.  And lucky me, I got to ride it twice because because Grayson also wanted a turn.
And here we are in a little clown car. I do love bumper cars but I would have enjoyed a larger car...every time we bumped I had to brace myself. That and I kinda felt bad ramming into a bunch of little kids.

Kevin did the Monkey Maze with the boys. All morning long Ryan talked about how he wanted to do the Haunted House at the fair. Seriously, all morning long. I was a little skeptical but just went a long with it. Of course, as soon as we approached the haunted house he took one look and started crying. Soooo we didn't do that. Luckily we found this kid-friendly fun house :)

Hayden had fun hanging out with Papu and taking in all the sights and sounds. This was Papu's first trip to the Texas State Fair!

After the rides we headed to get some corny dogs!

She was a fan!
Hanging with Yaya. She wanted to walk around so badly. But every time she got down she would run off, or find something on the ground to try and stick in her mouth. yuck!

We all shared a fried snickers and then the rest of them shared fried pecan pie (you know how I feel about pie).

Ryan was set on getting popcorn and a snow cone. Here he is with his popcorn. And the snow cone didn't happen because we couldn't find it again...oops! Good thing there is a neighborhood block party this week with snow cones.

We walked around a little bit and then finished up with checking out the animals.
Grayson was trying to feed the ducks and one of them came up and grabbed all of his food. Good thing he thought the whole thing was hilarious. Silly duck!

These little piglets were precious.

And of course we stopped and snapped a pic with Big Tex. Or as Ryan calls him "that tall man that talks"

Until next year....

Soccer Season

Introducing the LittleR Rascals....
Basically all the siblings to Ryan's team (The Little Rascals) started their own team. After being dragged around to all of their older siblings games and practices they finally get their chance to shine! Woot woot!

So proud to be all dressed up for his first game!

He loved it! (Sadly he hasn't shown this much enthusiasm for a game since...hoping he perks back up)

First week was a buy week for this man - he loved watching little G play!

And since the Little Rascals dissolved (their age group is no longer co-ed), they joined forces with another group of boys and are now the Jedi Knights!

Kevin is still coaching these little monkeys!

And so it begins again...now it's this little one who is always running out in the field trying to play.

A little snuggle time

And trying to get a pic of these three was a bit difficult

And a team pic from this weekends game...

Up Up and Away

Here's a #throwback to our week in Captiva Island with my family in August. I still need to blog about our trip but for now these pics will have to do!

Grayson is a wild man in the pool - he loves to be thrown. Between my two brothers, Kevin and Papu he had quite a few launchers to rotate through.

And my favorite frame-by-frame of the day...

And he came up asking if I caught that on video.

Hayden's 1st Haircut

I took the boys to get their hair cut after school and ended up getting Hayden's 1st cut too! I hadn't planned on it but as the boys were getting cut the lady somewhat hinted that maybe it was time for a little chop chop. I hadn't really thought much about it but then as I looked at her....
it was fairly obvious.

So we walked in with this hot mess
(two suckers in...)

 and a little magic...

She didn't want her picture taken

My sweet little lady!
